CENTER FOR THE UPLIFTMENT OF RURAL AREAS (CEFURA) is a non-governmental and non-profit community-based organization (NGO) committed to working for/with the poor, backward and marginalized youth, women and children in our rural communities. Towards this end, it has brought together young people of common vision and mission from different professional disciplines to make a meaningful contribution to the national response on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). This Organization was formed in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital (NIGERIA).

CEFURA is in response to the critical need for young professionals to be more involved in the community, local government, grassroots, and strengthening of the private sector institutions in the rural and semi-rural areas of Kwara State. Such dire need results from the rapid decentralization and the usually ill-budgeted funding of local government and other community-based development projects in these selected areas.
